This work (as well as my paintings on panel) is inspired by reality (places I have been, images I have seen, and stories I have read and dreamed) but are transformed by recollections, struggle, and the process of painting. They show visible signs of their making. I am interested in my painting’s capacity to have history, to carry the passing of time. I want them to have the appearance of breathing.
